On Thursday 5th March we held our very first Bedtime Stories evening after school. We were delighted to see so many children return to school with their parents, dressed in their pyjamas and ready to share stories with milk and cookies! Beside a (virtual) roaring log fire, everyone settled down for a cosy evening…
Nursery and Reception enjoyed listening to ‘Frog is Frightened’ by Max Velthuijs , ‘Kipper’ and ‘Room on the Broom’ with Mrs Pham and Mrs Henson; Years 1 and 2 relaxed and were delighted by many stories including ‘Shark in the Dark’ and ‘The Day the Crayons Quit’ with Mrs Chidley and Mrs Hardaker; Years 3 and 4 were captivated by magical fairy stories read brilliantly by Miss Wright and Years 5 and 6 were entertained by Miss Williams and Mr South reading ‘Murder at Twilight’ and a short story from ‘Uncanny’ by Paul Jennings.
“It was very good.” – Samuel (Year 2) “I really enjoyed the stories!” – Poppy-Mai (Year 2) “It was peaceful because everyone was calm and quiet. The stories were interesting even though I’d heard them before because it was nice being with my friends.” – Davina (Year 3) “It was an excellent evening. We read books and had biscuits and milk with our friends.” – McHenry (Year 5)
A huge thank you to everyone who attended. We had an excellent turnout and hope that you enjoyed it as much as we did!
