A nurturing, one-form entry primary school in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire.
In Year 4 the children enjoy developing their teamwork skills as they make great progress academically. With their increased independence, they are able to challenge themselves further and develop stronger resilience.
In Year 4, the children enjoy their learning through a wide range of exciting topics. From making an Italian Pizza to inventing their own machines, it is full of fantastic and exciting opportunities to learn.
At Kenilworth, we ask our children to complete half termly ‘home learning grids’ for their homework. This enables children to practise a wide range of skills at home and to share their learning across the curriculum.
We also fully understand the impact of regular reading on a child’s development. Therefore we ask for every child to read a minimum of 3 times per week.

Starting in 2020, all Year 4 pupils will be sitting a times tables assessment. This assessment will be testing pupils knowledge of times tables, up to and including 12 x 12.
The test will be taken on the computer, giving the children an eight second window to input the answers. An example of how the test might look can be found at: Maths Frame Multiplication Game
In order to prepare our pupils in advance we run an annual Year 3 parents workshop, sharing information about the test and how they can help at home. We will also hold a meeting with all Year 4 parents before the test, to ensure that all pupils are fully prepared. For more information, please visit: The School Run Website
