During our Learning Awards assembly on Friday we celebrated National Poetry Day together by sharing some of our favourite poems.
Reba, Tomi and Isabella from Year 6 shared a poem about the activist Greta Thunberg and Elisei from Year 5 read ‘A Poem to be Spoken Quietly’ which was full of fantastic onomatopoeia to inspire the senses. Lois and Isabella, from Year 4, read the hilarious poem ‘Gran, Can You Rap?’ by Jack Ousby and Afam from Year 3 entertained us all with ‘ Ghoul School Rules.’ Henrietta and Alexia from Year 2 shared ‘Library’ by Michael Rosen.
We were all so impressed with all of our young poets; sharing their poems with excellent fluency and expression.
